Romans 8:28

"It would be easy to say: it all works together for good. But it is not cheap and easy. The context of Roman 8:28 is one of suffering, especially suffering of intense persecution for the faith...But things do work together for good, for those who are willing to accept the suffering. For God uses the suffering to chisel away at our pride, self-dependence, and self-boasting. His methods are sometimes fiery. He has a hot chisel, if you will. He must see in each of us a resistance to His will that is very intense and requires the strongest measures to change us into Christlikeness."
