Since 1998, ESPN magazine put out an issue called "Next." The magazine highlighted the most promising up and coming athletes. The cover of the premier issue is above - you might recognize a couple of those faces.
Other Next athletes included:
- Vince Carter
- Yao Ming
- LeBron James
- Dwight Howard
As far as I know most churches doesn't have a "Next" magazine issue. But if there was, you guys as college students would be on the cover of it - whether or not you want to be on it. Yet, its not just about being fresh, new, flashy...
Sovereign Grace renamed their conference for college students / young adults, "NEXT" in 2009:
"Next isn't built on "new." It isn't about the next trend or fad. Next is built on the old, treasured, and true. It's about rediscovering old truth and recommitting to it."
